thoughts on how i use this site and how i might change it moving forward.

2025

03-04

  • what about things that are a cross between two things: like oc/canon (fan x project)??
    • the worming tag exists – maybe i should just make a folder for dreaming girl stuff?
  • i should probably have a tag for stuff that is mine… including stuff like my physical library, so it can’t be “memories” since the library is continually updated. (i would have used “memories” for zines & comics i’ve made)

03-05

  • tags in same realm: #yume (for oc/canon shenanigans), #original-work (for ocs and autobio… or should these be separate?), #worming (for general perversions that could be applied to yume stuff or turn into an oc project lol)
  • unsure about the epistemic status – knowing which posts to tag with epistemic statuses is not intuitive yet
  • would like to have a list of tags but it annoys me that doing so in a post’s body will give it that tag
    • ✅ i forgot how i disabled this but it was definitely in the quartz docs.

03-15

  • when i push an update via vscode, all the notes show the same date modified on the site. would this be different if i use quartz sync? should i change my note dates to date created?

03-24

  • got rid of the priv tag, since i can just check which notes are private using dataview on which files have frontmatter of draft: true.
    • 03-25-2026: moved all priv notes back to the homebase so i wouldn’t have to bother with all this.
  • added epistemic and glimmer to the frontmatter.
    • the tags are optional now – only if i want the status to be known to people viewing the site, really. otherwise it’s dataview babey
  • consider what to do with passwords…

04-03

  • amount of space between a paragraph and a single bullet bothers me a little. i really like how it looks on Regular Obsidian, but not on quartz.
  • also dislike how i need a line break between lines in blockquotes… see evil huemags for an example of what i mean. unsure what to do about that.
  • links in list items are the same color as list. should i fix this…

2026

01-03

  • decided to get rid of the epistemic and glimmer statuses because they were too tedious to keep track of lol…

03-19

  • in the process of doing the rehaul from yesterday, in which i have 3-4 main folders (archive/desk/inbox/shelf) and everything else is tagged.
  • testing: topic/personal/projects topic/projects? they’re not REALLY personal, so i’m putting them in their own category, like how topic/webdev and topic/artmaking are their own category. personal is more like… About Me™.

03-20

  • finished the overhaul, save for the shelf folder. i have to look in there and see what to tag.

03-25

  • oh, the shelf folder is fixed. used the status tag saved for them.
    • actually, in this case, do i really need a shelf folder…?
  • i got rid of the “access” tag since my only two access choices are “public” and “password”, and i can just search for things with a password using my base of passworded files.
  • I WOULD LIKE:
    • permalinks, or links to notes that don’t depend on what folder they’re in. i might move a note from archive to desk, and i’d like its link to stay the same.
    • the title of a nested tag’s page to look nicer…
      • currently:
        • breadcrumbs: home > tags > topic > rships > 🏷️: topic/rships/family
        • title: 🏷️: topic/rships/family
      • ideal:
        • breadcrumbs: home > tags > topic > rships > 🏷️: family
        • title: 🏷️: topic/rships/family
          • this can stay the same, but i’d like everything but “family” to be dimmed.
    • the default tags page to look nicer in general. or maybe i should just make my own damn specific tags pages by:
      • status
      • topic
      • the special mindscape tag
    • a list of all files
  • do i want to make my first default header h1 instead of h2? feels like that goes against semantics in which the note title should be the only h1… unsure.
  • also, maybe i should consider fixing the h3 and h4 css. it’s quite ugly over on quartz customization log.
